The implementation of common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) at ACSA-managed airports commenced in 2000 and is now fully operational at OR Tambo, Cape Town, King Shaka and Port Elizabeth International Airports.
The implementation of CUTE has seen increased operational efficiencies in terms of infrastructure development. The CUTE operating model allows for check-in desks and boarding gates to be used by multiple airlines and therefore eliminates the need for the installation of airline-specific equipment.
The introduction of CUTE maximises the use of available infrastructure, space and terminal utilisation.
Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) service entails the provision, maintenance and support for software applications at check-in counters manned by airlines to facilitate passenger and baggage check-in. CUTE provides infrastructure efficiencies, higher levels of equipment usage and cost savings to airport management companies.
